Autoimmune diseases

Troops of white corpuscles are constantly on health patrol in our blood vessels and lymph organs to protect us against pathogens. Unfortunately, misunderstandings sometimes occur, because it is not always clear to the defense cells of the immune system , whether they are dealing with "friend" or "foe" – i.e. the body’s own substances or alien substances.

For that reason the immune system sometimes fights against its own body. The consequences are painful autoimmune diseases such as rheumatism or chronic bowel inflammation.
