Integrins - the anchors of a cell |
Cells have a multitude of receptors so that they can maintain contact with each other. Receptors are detection molecules with which they can identify other cells and proteins in their environment. Integrins are a group of such receptors that primarily enable cells to stick to one other and to their substratum.
