Sarcoidosis

Sarcoidosis is a disease that causes inflammation of the body's tissues. The inflammation produces small lumps (also called granulomas) in the tissues. The cause of sarcoidosis is not known. Frequently, sarcoidosis occurs in the lung or the lung-related lymph nodes. However, in some patients, other locations are involved such as the lymph nodes, skin, liver, gut, heart, skin or the nervous system.
