Cell nucleus

The cell nucleus is the “command center” inside the cell. In it, the genetic material is located which contains the genes inherited from the parents. The genetic material is divided onto a few very long DNA threads that are wound around a supportive protein framework. However, not all creatures have a cell nucleus. In bacteria, the genetic information is located immediately inside the cell, within the so-called cell plasma.
